Until recently, every self-respecting Fashionista did not dare be caught with an item that revealed where she was actually shopping (aka – Logo items). It's considered uncool, and only people that have are clueless in fashion added these kinds of clothes to their wardrobe.
Last year, the creative director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele managed to restore prestige to the slogan shirts with a hideously expensive white T-shirt, with the brands name on it and a simple illustration of the brand's iconic belt under. Needless to say that this t-shirt became an overnight street style sensation. It did not take long until all the brands launched their own version of the logo items, that overnight became from a big no no to a must!
The items with slogans continue to flood the shops, and despite the confirmation we received from the fashion world, it is an item that must be treated with caution, because the line between style and victim in this case is very thin.
Here are 3 simple rules that will help you:
Rule # 1
Choose an item that has the added value that you can connect to, like Dior shirt that is accompanied by feminist messages.
Rule #2
Choose brands that inspire you on a daily basis. If you like Gucci's crazy and colorful style, go for his iconic logo shirt, but if you're more in the street style section, Balenciaga's slogan items are your direction.
Rule #3
Choose items that fit your everyday style, because if you do not feel comfortable, it will affect the overall look. For example, if you are the type of person who wears 24/7 sportswear, go for an item from the Beyoncé collection, to Topshop or another sports affiliated brand.
